Is Crossbones the Main Villain on ‘Captain America: Civil War’?
Marvel never fails to keep their fans on their toes for the updates they release as they are now hinting Crossbones as the main villain for the third and final "Captain America" installment, "Captain America: Civil War." Read on to know more about this scoop.
Marvel surely owns the box office recently with the way it has two of its films ranking second and fourth in the highest grossing movies of the year. On the latest updated tally, James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” ranked second now, with $ 770,104,000. The Russo brothers also did not falter from the top five as they assume the fourth spot with their "Captain America" sequel, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” earning $714,083,572.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” may have fallen from the third spot, but it proves to hold the most compelling and shocking plot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet. With the biggest reveal of how Hydra managed to infiltrate S. H. I. E. L. D. deep to its founding roots, fans certainly did not expect such a plot twist that led to the dissolving of the private protective organization. And it would appear that Marvel is surely ending the franchise with a bang as they finally dropped the bomb in the confirmation of adapting the Civil War story and entitling the third film “Captain America: Civil War.” Chris Evans is sure to reprise his role as Steve Rogers, and he will be joined by Marvel’s golden boy, Robert Downey Jr., as he continues to play his Iron Man aka Tony Stark. It’s easy to assume that the two head Avengers would be fighting each other off on the final film, but it would appear that another formidable villain will be added into the mix. Frank Grillo’s Brock Rumlow could return to the final installment, embracing his comic book villain persona as Crossbones.
Based on the feature by Screen Rant, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” showcased different kind of questions on what’s to come in the future Marvel films including “setting up Rumlow’s future return.” It was recently revealed that Frank Grillo does have a multi-picture contract with Hollywood’s most talked about studio to date. However, details for the “Purge: Anarchy” actor’s future appearances are currently withheld.
On a different note, according to Justin Kroll, Grillo’s Crossbones will assume the main villainous role for the 2016 Marvel film.
Based on the information in the storyline of the comic book, it was Crossbones who was responsible for the attempted assassination of Captain America under the orders of Red Skull following the occurrence of the Civil War. With Rumlow possibly joining the franchise ender, fans can now greatly consider the movie adapting this as its main plot. Moreover, Grillo tweeted a status saying he knows less than nothing about "Captain America 3."
"Captain America: Civil War" will hit the big screens on May 6, 2016.
