‘Jack Reacher 2’: Tom Cruise Movie Sequel Directed Ed Zwick
Fans of Tom Cruise in the action drama movie “Jack Reacher” have another reason to rejoice as the Hollywood star is all set to reprise his role in the 2012 movie’s sequel. The movie will dig deeper into the character’s work and adventures.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount and Skydance are behind this new instalment and have been instrumental in getting the film rolling. “Jack Reacher 2” is all said to continue the adventures of the former Military police investigator who prefers to work alone, left alone and has a solid reputation of not being found until he himself wants to be found. It is also being reported that Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz will be re-teaming with Tom Cruise after having worked with him in “The Last Samurai”.
The character has been adapted from books by Lee Child and this movie will be the second in installment that is based on the book “Never Go Back”. It is not surprising that the producers wanted to do a “Jack Reacher 2” after original movie made $218 million worldwide with only a $60 million budget. Christopher McQuarrie who wrote and directed the first movie is only going to be associated with the movie as an executive producer. Mr. Zwick and Herskovitz are in talks to write the new script with the former directing the movie.
Cinema blend reported that the “Jack Reacher 2” would have Jack Reacher travel to Virginia to meet one of his associate Susan with whom he has been in a long contact with over telephone. Susan also happens to be a military officer and has been helping Jack in his previous engagements related to work. Once the character arrives at his destination he discovers that he has walked into a mess that can harm him both professionally and personally. It will be interesting to see how Jack gets out of this one.
