James Cameron to Stun Audiences Again in ‘Avatar 2,’ 3D to Melt Faces
How fast will director James Cameron film Avatar 2? So fast that Avatar fans will have to scrap their faces off the floor. That fast. While speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the director of the too biggest films in Hollywood history (Titanic, Avatar) revealed that he will shoot Avatar 2 a “double the film speed” of other productions.
Avatar 2 will be shot at 48 t0 60 frames per second. This is done to prevent a “strobing” effect that may blur moving images.
“I was stunned when I saw it, at how clear and crisp it was,” says Cameron. “If 3D is like looking at reality through a window, we’ve taken the glass out of the window.”
On writing the sequel to Avatar, Cameron said he’s still working on it that he has “got a bit of time to get this sorted out.”
Cameron also revealed that production on Avatar 2 would not begin for well over another year.
Avatar 2 is set to hit theaters around Christmas 2014 with Avatar 3 following a year later.
