Is wrestling real? This is a question that many have asked throughout the years. While their off-ring drama and moves may be scripted, (some of) their injuries tend to get real. Some have even died as a result of the injuries they encountered from the sport. The latest wrestler to hit headlines for knocking out is Jeff Hardy.

According to the,  Hardy lost consciousness during a taping of “TNA Lockdown,” which was set in New York City on Jan. 9, 2015. On the video of  the incident, Hardy was seen climbing to the top of the cage while he was on a match with his opponent. But apparently, his opponent hit him very hard that he lost grip. He eventually fell off and hit his head on the stairs situated on the other side of the cage.

The original plan was for Hardy to fall off and make a landing on the floor. On his way down, however, the wrestler accidentally hit the bottom of the stairs. The impact to his head was so hard that the wrestler was knocked out for a few minutes. On-scene paramedics rushed to check the 37-year-old, who woke up to a lot of pain (as evident on the video).

Bleacher Report reported that Hardy’s brother and co-wrestler, Matt, confirmed news of Hardy getting injured after the incident.

As of this writing, however, there is unclear reports on whether or not Hardy was truly injured and how massive his injuries have been. Hardy may not be available during their international tour on Jan. 29 to 31, 2015 these dates if he ever is in the hospital.

Recently, “TNA” had to do a reboot to mark the show’s transfer to Destination America. To start the year, “TNA” needed to make an impact — apparently, Hardy’s accident was not the impact they were hoping for.

Hardy, as a wrestler, has been known as among the premier daredevils. Having been a wrestler for many years, Hardy has gained a stable popularity rating and is considered as one of the elites. His signature style is to perform death-defying stunts but still manage to escape major injuries.

At this point of Hardy’s career, do you think he needs to slow down and stop risking his life for these stunts? Let us know what you think!
