Jessica Simpson Says Her Marriage to Nick Lachey Has Been The “Biggest Money Mistake”

However that does not mean that she has not made any mistakes in the past. Rather, she said in a recent interview that getting married to Nick Lachey was one of the biggest financial mistakes she made.
On Thursday, Jessica was asked in a show called “Closing Bell” aired on CNBC by host Kelly Evans what her biggest financial blunder was. The businesswoman answered that for some reasons she thought it was her first marriage.
In 2002, Simpson got married to Lachey, her fellow singer after which they won “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica”, an MTV reality show. The show was based on what was happening in their married life and was aired from 2003 to 2005.
The couple were separated in 2005 and eventually got divorced in 2006.
According to a report published by Emily Yahr in The Washington Post, Jessica had called her biggest financial mistake had been to get married to Lachey as she had to part with a huge sum of money from her earnings after they got divorced due to the absence of a prenuptial agreement.
At the time of her divorce, Jessica’s net worth was about $35 million while Lachey had annual earnings of $5 million.
Jessica is now a happily married woman and has a blessed life with her husband, former NFL playerEric Johnson and their two kids.
In 2005, Jessica launched her “Jessica Simpson Collection” which is now a hugely successful billion-dollar fashion business.
