Jimmy Fallon and One Direction Sing ‘Santa Claus Is Coming to Town’ [WATCH VIDEO]
Christmas is here! Christmas shopping might be over for some, but Christmas songs will last until the year is over. These songs being played on the radio is enough to memorize everything. Joining the bandwagon is none other than Jimmy Fallon and his pals from One Direction.
To show their holiday spirit, Jimmy Fallon and the boys from One Direction band wore matching Yuletide novelty sweatshirts as they guested in a special episode of “The Tonight Show” last Monday. Packed in a festively decorated room, the boyband members (along with Fallon) were joined by The Roots band to play a traditional Christmas song.
Together with the 40-year-old host, the boys made use of different classroom materials in lieu of musical instruments to play their rendition of the highly popular Christmas song “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” Using instruments such as a wood block, kazoo, triangle, coconuts, tambourine and a banana shaker, the boys were able to recreate the song into an interesting number.
The Roots also helped make the rendition a hit with the use of other low-key instruments.
Before Monday’s episode of “The Tonight Show” was aired, Fallon expressed his excitement on Twitter by posting a photo of him with the musicians as they were singing the Christmas carol. The caption of the photo read: "Me, 1D & the Roots. #Fallon1D."
Apart from 1D, Fallon’s guests for the night included Chris Pine and David Oyelowo.
With the video of the performance uploaded on YouTube, 1D fans throughout the world can get a glimpse of how the band sang in tune with the rest of the ensemble. And with the help of the creative instruments, many can’t help but laugh at how quirky the boys of 1D and Fallon could get.
Perhaps it is their Christmas gift for their fans, but many are requesting the boys to get rid of those embarrassing sweatshirts. What do you think? Should they keep wearing the sweatshirt for this season? Let us know in the comments below!
