Johnny Depp is the Face of Dior’s Latest Men’s Perfume Sauvage
Johnny Depp is the new face of Dior’s latest fragrance for men. The perfume was released for general consumption early September and has been doing well in the market. The advertisement film was directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino and features the music by musician Ry Cooder, who has played with legends like the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, and Neil Young. Read on for more details.
The video is available here. It shows Depp getting disillusioned with the city and driving off into the desert. The video showcases the actor’s sultry looks and he looks unbelievably hot with the guitar. His hands are adorned with many rings and bracelets. He is dressed in a deep blue shirt and a black vest.
The story in the clip goes like this. Depp is bored with the city. He whiles his time with the guitar for a bit, before heading out to the desert. When he is in the desert, he gets rid of his bracelets and accoutrements and buried them in a hole as the creatures of the wild watch him. As he heads back to the car, a perfect storm creeps in.
The most striking feature of the advertising film is the beautiful bird’s eye view shots of skyscrapers at night. The film also features a really pretty vintage Dodge Challenger that Depp drives around in the feature. The music is a strikingly beautiful guitar piece that has a hard rock edge.
Dior has revealed that the perfume was designed by Francois Demachy. He used the original 1966 fragrance named Sauvage to create a base note for the new perfume. He then worked with it till it felt more contemporary and masculine.
We felt that Depp’s classic dark and wild looks go well with a perfume named Sauvage, which is the French word for wild and earthy. What do you think? Sound off in the comments section below.
