Jonah Hill Apologizes on Jimmy Fallon Show [WATCH VIDEO]

On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, “22 Jump Street” actor Jonah Hill apologizes at the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” for throwing a homophobic slur at a photographer.  Early Tuesday, TMZ uploaded the video. (Watch it here.) The photographer even mocked Hill’s floral shorts and called them “pretty sexy.” After making the statement, the photographer still followed Hill, even wishing him a good day. Then Hill said, “Suck my d***, you f*****!”

Before appearing at Jimmy Fallon’s show, Hill already issued an apology in an interview with Howard Stern. He explained that he lost his cool and was regretful about what he said.

“It would break my heart to think that anyone would think, especially with all the work that I have done and all the loved ones that I have, that I would be against anyone for their sexuality,” said Hill as published in the CNN report.

Hill clarified that the photographer called him names and insulted his family while he was with friends. In response, he mustered the most hurtful words that he can think of at that moment.

While in Jimmy Fallon’s show, Hill explained that he did not mean what he said, emphasizing that he did not mean it in a “homophobic way.” The actor admitted that his words were indeed hurtful. He also expressed how deeply sorry he was for the people who have been affected by the term in their life.

“I didn’t mean this in the sense of the word. I didn’t mean it in a homophobic way. [But] I think that doesn’t matter, how you mean things doesn’t matter…words have weight and meaning. The word I chose was grotesque and no one deserves to say or hear words like that,” stated Hill as published in Variety.

Hill tried reaching out to the young ones who were watching the show to use him as an example of what not to follow if someone told them something hurtful. He also encouraged them not to respond with hatred and anger.

Hill concluded that he deserve what he was about to get for what he said. Moreover, Hill previously tweeted about Russia’s anti-gay laws regarding the Winter Olympics and referred to himself as a supporter of gay rights.
