Joseph Gordon-Levitt Might Play as Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone Film
Hollywood actor Joseph Gordon- Levitt is now in negotiations to play as the NSA leaker Edward Snowden in an upcoming film directed by Oliver Stone. Read on for more details of this story.
According to the Hollywood Reporter (THR), the actor will star in a movie which will be written and directed by Stone based on the two literatures: Luke Harding’s “The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man” and Anatoly Kucherena’s “Time of the Octopus.”
“The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man” is based on Snowden’s disclosed reports with the newspaper “The Guardian.” Meanwhile, Kucherena, who was also Snowden’s Russian lawyer, wrote a story that follows the story of an American whistleblower who spends weeks in Moscow’s airport after threatened by the government while seeking asylum in Russia. The film will also be produced by Stone with Moritz Berman and Eric Kopeloff with production set to kick off by the end of the year.
Levitt a child star, has appeared in films such as “A River Runs Through It”, “Angels in the Outfield”, and “10 Things I Hate About You” as well as starring in the TV series “3rd Rock from the Sun.” After his break from showbiz, the now-adult Levitt has lead in films such as “(500) Days of Summer”, “Inception”, “50/50”, “Premium Rush”, “The Dark Knight Rises”, “Looper”, and “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.”
Levitt soon established his own online production company “hitRECord” in 2004 and has hosted his own TV series, “HitRecord” on TV, since January 2014. The production company uses video, music, literature, photography, performance, screenwriting, graphic arts among others from different artists around the world to make various projects and workings such as short films, books, and DVDs. The production company has produced shorts “Morgan M. Morgansen’s Date with Destiny” and sequel “Morgan and Destiny’s Eleventeenth Date: The Zeppelin Zoo.”
The actor then made his writing and directorial debut in the film “Don Jon”, a comedy film in which he stars alongside Scarlett Johansson, and Julianne Moore. He recently finished his work on “The Walk” by Robert Zemeckis about Philippe Petit. He is currently filming for an untitled Christmas special alongside “50/50” team of director Jonathan Levine and actor/writer Seth Rogen . Levitt has recently appeared on “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.”
