“Jurassic World” Sequel to Feature Human-Dinosaur Hybrids? Director Colin Trevorrow Shares What the Film Might Be About

“Jurassic World” exceeded everyone’s expectations after what seemed to be a long wait for fans of the “Jurassic Park” film franchise. However, with “Jurassic World” finally released, fans are currently wondering what will be next for the franchise, especially since the original film spawned two more sequels – “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” and “Jurassic Park III.” Director Colin Trevorrow dropped some hints regarding the future of the “Jurassic” universe.

Recently, Peter Sciretta of Slash Film and Eric Eisenberg of Cinemablend both managed to talk to director Colin Trevorrow, who dropped some hints on the future of the “Jurassic” franchise.

In both interviews, Trevorrow revealed that a whole new slew of “Jurassic” movies have already been subtly set up in the film. The outlet noted that a big clue to this lies in the fact that B.D. Wong’s Dr. Henry Wu, a scientist charged with creating and genetically modifying dinosaurs, who turned out to be in cahoots with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Hoskins, managed to escape Isla Nubla on an InGen helicopter, clutching samples of his pet project – hybrid dinosaurs.

Trevorrow mentioned that he would probably be involved with the upcoming films creatively, but not as the director. He also mentioned that an important scene in the movie, which would give way for the sequels, has unfortunately been cut out.

Dr. Wu was supposed to have told Irrfan Kahn’s Simon Masrani that one day they won’t be the only ones making dinosaurs. This opens up a lot of doors in exploring who, besides them, would want to take advantage of using dinosaurs for their own purposes, aside from working in the military, as Hoskins had wanted.

In a way, this connects back when he said that many other stories could be explored as this runs parallel to what we experience today when it comes to the “proliferation of technology.”

The director didn’t give any hints as to what kind of creatures fans and audiences will be seeing in the “Jurassic World” sequel, but Movie Pilot came up with a theory that it would be possible for the franchise to incorporate some concept art that had been making the rounds online before the film premiered in cinemas: Human–Dinosaur hybrids.

What do you think will happen in the sequels to “Jurassic World?” Aside from Chris Pratt, which actors and actresses do you wish to return in the upcoming movies? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
