‘Justice League’ Update: Machinima to Distribute ‘Gods and Monsters Chronicles’ Miniseries from Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett

According to Comic Book, animator Bruce Timm and Allan Burnetthave started brewing up a new Justice League project. It will be distributed by Machinima digitally. Read on to find out more on this story.

“Ever since we announced the Warner Bros. strategic investment, we have been looking for a new and exciting way to tap into the company’s unmatched content – Machinima will be the very first place fans can experience a new vision for DC Comics’ beloved Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman” says Machinima’s CEO Chad Gutstein.


The project marks the first project of WB’s newly formed digital content production unit, spearheaded by President of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series, Sam Register.

The “Justice League” miniseries is based on the original animated pic from executive producers Timm and Alan Burnett. It will  feature the “darker versions of DC superheroes Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman in ‘a newly-conceived reality in the DC Universe.”

“Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles” debuts on Machinima by spring of 2015 before Warner Bros. Home Entertainment release of “Justice League: Gods & Monsters” pic.

Other projects DC are currently involved includes the upcoming “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” It stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ben Affleck as BruceWayne/Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from “Man of Steel,” Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is directed by Zack Snyder, who also directed the pic “Man of Steel.”  The pic is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on March 25, 2016.
