‘Justice League’ Update: DC Entertainment Releases Trailer for ‘Throne of Atlantis’
The debut trailer for “Justice League: Throne of Atlantis,” the much-awaited sequel of the upcoming direct-to-video animation “Justice League: War” has been released by DC entertainment. It is based on the same storyline written by Geoff Johns for the comic book empire. Read on to learn more about it.
According to Comicbook.com, “Justice League: Throne of Atlantis”” follows the events after the first pic “Justice League: War.” As seen in its post-credit scene after Darkseid’s onslaught, the villain Ocean Master, prince of Atlantis Orm and the Atlanteans begin their march towards the surface to exact their “revenge” on the humans who they think were responsible for the attack on their home, Atlantis. To prevent the upcoming war, the Atlantean Queen must work hand-in-hand with the Justice League in order to find Arthur Curry AKA the “Aqua-Man,” Orm’s half-brother and “the only hope of bringing peace between these two civilizations.”
“Throne of Atlantis” will serve as Aquaman’s origin story, who was replaced by Shazam as a founding member of the Justice League in “Justice League: War”. It features the voices of Jason O’Mara, Christopher Gorham, Sean Astin, Shemar Moore and Steven Blum who reprise the roles from “Justice League: War” as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Flash/Barry Allen, Shazam, Cyborg/Victor Stone while Nathan Fillion reprises his role as Green Lantern, Hal Jordan from “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights”, “Justice League: Doom” and “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.” Matt Lanter will voice Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman/Clark Kent, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince, Sam Witwer as Orm and Harry Lennix as the villain Black Manta.
“Justice League: Throne of Atlantis” is directed by Ethan Spaulding (“Son of Batman”), who also helmed“Batman: Assault on Arkham”, from a script written by Heath Corson. It is produced by James Tucker and will be distributed by Warner Home Video for a scheduled 2015 release.
