Katy Perry Set to Perform at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards
After giving an amazing halftime performance for the Super Bowl, Katy Perry once again graces the center stage as she lines up as one of the many celebrities set to perform for the Grammys this year.
In an exclusive report, Billboard says that Perry has already started on her performance for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony this Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015. The report claims that Perry is planning to perform the song “By the Grace of God” from her latest album “Prism.” She is also planning on a highly visual performance focusing on dance elements.
Billboard apparently contacted the representatives of the awarding body and of Perry; however, they have not yet called back an official confirmation to the news. It has also not yet been confirmed if “By the Grace of God” will be the only song she’ll be singing or she’ll sneak in other songs for the show.
“By the Grace of God” was apparently inspired by Perry’s divorce from ex-husband Russell Brand, back when she was contemplating of committing suicide after he broke things with her through a text message. In an interview with Billboard back in September 2013, Perry admitted that the song showed how tough it was for her during those times that she even asked herself “Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?”
In another note, some speculate that Perry may use this performance as another chance to diss Taylor Swift, like that of her Super Bowl performance, especially since Swift will most definitely be attending the said event.
During her halftime performance at the Super Bowl, Perry made a subtle diss on Swift by having her backup dancers wear high-waisted polka dot bikinis, which apparently were known to be Swift’s signature outfit design. In addition to this, one of the sharks dancing along with Perry back then was actually one of the dancers involved in the feud these two celebrities have been nursing on for some time now.
Do you think Perry will take another shot at dissing Swift during her performance at the Grammys this coming Sunday? Post your comments below.
