Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner to Present at 2014 American Music Awards [WATCH VIDEO]
Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner are gearing up to present at 2014 American Music Awards (AMAs). The reality stars have signed as presenters at the said event. The sisters, who were recently named two of TIME’s Most Influential Teens, did a fabulous job hosting the MuchMusic Video Awards back in June. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
According to Hollywood Life, Dick Clark productions and ABC announced a mix of film, music and television stars to present at the 2014 AMAs. The Kardashian sisters are included in the line-up of previously announced presenters. The list includes Uzo Aduba, Elizabeth Banks, Aloe Blacc, Jamie Foxx, Julianne Hough, Jessie J, Heidi Klum, Olivia Munn, Emmy Rossum and Taylor Schilling.
The 2014 AMAs will also feature performances from various music artists such as Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, 5 Seconds of Summer, Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Fergie, One Direction, Sam Smith , Charli XCX, Imagine Dragons, Lorde and Pitbull.
The event pays tribute to today’s high-ranking and legendary artists. Artists will be honored in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative Rock, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Contemporary Inspirational, Electronic Dance Music. The categories for Top Soundtrack, New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl's, Artist of the Year. For the first year ever, the "Single of the Year" award will be handed out.
Azalea leads this year's list of nominees with six nominations, including Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for "Fancy." John Legend, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams each received five nods. Lorde received four nods. Beyoncé, Eminem, One Direction and Imagine Dragons are up for three. Bastille, OneRepublic, Drake, Luke Bryan and Sam Smith each received two nominations.
The annual awards show will air live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on ABC. Click HERE for the entire list of the 2014 AMAs nominees.
Dick Clark founded the AMAs in 1973 for ABC, when the network's contract to present the Grammy Awards expired. Contrasting with the Grammys, which is awarded on the basis of votes by members of the Recording Academy, the AMAs are determined by a poll of the fans and music buyers. The award figurine is manufactured by the New York firm Society Awards.
