Kendall Jenner Being Considered for Victoria’s Secret Runway Show
Kendall Jenner’s modelling career has been on the rise since her first campaign with retail giant Forever 21, so it comes as no surprise that Victoria’s Secret is eyeing her for its annual runway show in December. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
“They saw all the buzz she got from walking in New York Fashion Week,” a source said as published on the Daily Mail. “They’d love to lock in a contract with her.” Jenner is currently signed to modelling agencies Elite and The Society Management.
The 18-year-old model also had a good run in Paris, where she walked for Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Botega Veneta, Chanel, and most notably, Sonia Rykiel, for which she donned a sheer black number. She has been on the cover of LOVE magazine, Teen Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
Jenner rose to popularity in the reality show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” But she has since tried to distance herself from her infamous family by dropping her last name from her modelling sheet. She has also asked her older half-sister, Kim Kardashian-West, to not sit in the front row of her shows.
“People think that this [success] just came to me. But it didn’t. What I have has almost worked against me. I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn’t take me seriously as a model … I went on castings and some people weren’t feeling me because of my name,” revealed Jenner in an interview with LOVE magazine.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was first organized in 1995 and has been televised since 2001. As many as 30 models walk the Victoria’s Secret (VS) runway every year, but only a select few are given wings and elevated to the status of a VS Angel. The current roster of VS Angels include Adrianna Lima, Doutzen Kroes and Candice Swanepole, among others.
