KIM KARDASHIAN HAD PLACENTA COMPLICATIONS DURING SAINT WEST’S BIRTH
Though Kim Kardashian delivered her second baby on December 5 and is now doing great, as per reports she has had a difficult pregnancy. The “Keeping up With The Kardashian” star had a difficult labor during the birth of her son.
A source told PEOPLE that Kim Kardashian was suffering from a medical condition called placenta accreta. The source further revealed that she was suffering from the same condition when she gave birth to her daughter North West. Because of the issue with the placenta, the second Kardashian child had a very difficult time giving birth to the baby.
When various parts of the placenta, including blood vessels, grow deep into the wall of the uterus, the medical condition placenta accreta occurs. For any normal delivery, the placenta comes out automatically after the baby is born. However, in case of placenta accreta, the placenta does not get detached on its own. The doctor in attendance has to scrap it out using his or her hand.
While discussing the complications she faced during her past and present pregnancy period, the reality star revealed that the process of removing placenta by hand is extremely painful. She did say earlier that she also suffered from the same condition during her second child birth.
She also revealed in detail to C Magazine that if the placenta grows deeper this time, then there is a chance of her uterus being removed by the doctors. Kim also revealed that all these complications led to a lot of anxiety during her pregnancy, especially because she could do nothing about it.
However, despite all the problems she faced, Kim Kardashian gave birth to her second child with Kanye West on December 5. The child is said to be healthy and weighed 8 pounds and 1 ounce when born. She delivered the baby at a hospital located in Los Angeles. The couple, who were in no hurry to name their son, finally decided to call the cute one Saint West.
