Kings Of Leon Cancel Tour And Urge Lead Singer To Go To Rehab
Kings of Leon have canceled their entire tour and band mates are urging 29-year old lead singer Caleb Followill to go to rehab to deal with his alcohol problem. Sources say Caleb has been dealing with his drinking for quite some time now.
On Friday in Dallas, it became clear that Caleb was having problems when he walked off the stage halfway through the concert claiming he was hot. He told fans he was going to go backstage and vomit, drink some beer and come back to the stage. He never returned.
Shortly afterwards, Kings of Leon canceled the remaining dates of their tour. This sparked rumors that the band is was breaking up, but band members deny those rumors and tweeted that it was not true.
The band is said to be having serious internal problems because of Caleb’s drinking.
Representatives for the band say Caleb has been ill and is suffering from exhaustion and issues with his vocal cords.
Caleb has admitted to using drugs in the past and sources say his drinking is getting out of hand. Reportedly, Caleb has stopped taking hard drugs, but he does take a drug for attention deficient which he says helps him perform and remember the lyrics.
US tour dates will not be rescheduled because of the band touring commits abroad, but
tickets for the remaining US dates will be refunded.
Kings of Leon is scheduled to hit the road again in late September in Vancouver.
