Korean movies are way more different than to any Hollywood films. They are pretty special than any other movies out there. Some say it’s quite addicting while others claim that it’s not just your typical story at all.

Like what Thought Catalog  said, once your South Korean movie list starts to grow, Hollywood films will seem very “familiar.” Maybe a lot of you will either fall in love with it or will be inspired by it.

Ranging from action and horror to romance and comedy, Korean films have a lot to offer to every movie maniac out there, Enki Village even noted that if you’re lucky enough, “you can get a mashup of  them, all in one package!”

This coming Christmas, one of the most interesting and relaxing to do alone, is to watch unlimited movies that can surely make your day totally different. No need to do anything, just popped some popcorn, lay down to your bed and laugh.

  1. 1. Detective K

The South Korean movie series, “Detective K: Secret of the Virtuous Widow” and “Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island” revolves around the story of Detective K played by Kim Myung-min and his journey in solving mystery…in a funny way.

Together with his friend, Han Seo-Pil played by Oh Dal-su, they both solved the mystery surrounding Joseon.

  1. 2. Love Clinic

“Love Clinic” is a South Korean romantic comedy film that features two of the most popular Hallyu star in this generation, Oh Ji-ho and Kang Ye-Won.

The story is about two doctors, Gil Sin-seol, a female urologist (known for being an expert in men’s bodies (but still a virgin)) and Wang Seong-ki, a male gynecologist/obstetrician (who struggles with impotence after failing to deliver a baby via CS), who never fail to bump into each other and bicker even about the smallest and simplest thing in the world.

  1. 3. Casa Amor: Exclusive for Ladies

Cho Yeo-jeong and Clara team up for the movie “Casa Amor: Exclusives for Ladies” movie.

Baek Bo-hee and Oh Nan-hee are two different type of women.

Bo-hee is a pretty preserved married lady who works at a toy company. She is respected by her co-employees and is set for a promotion, however, she suddenly makes a terrible…stupid mistake that causes her job. Worst than that, she also loses her husband.

Nan-hee, on the other hand, is not your typical gal—she’s an amateur sex expert. She runs a sex toy business (Casa Amor) that happens to be on the  brink of bankruptcy.

Together, they will help each other to stand the legacy of the independent sexy women society…in the help of their unusual business.

“My Love, My Bride” features “Oh My Venus” actress Shin Min-ah and “Oh My Ghostess” actor Jo Jung-suk.

The story revolves around a couple who decided to get married after college. They love each other until their sweet honeymoon period turned into a non-stop bickering.

“Spellbound” is a horror romantic comedy movie starring Son Ye-jin and Lee Min-ki.

This is a story of two people who fell in love with each other in the most unexpected way. Ma Jo-goo is a magician who’s afraid of ghost, however, he fell in love with a mysterious girl named Kang Yeo-ri, who sees ghosts.

The movie is widely successful production and was able to make it to the 7th top-grossing movie of 2011.
