Kristen Wiig and Her Dance Moves at the Grammys Were a Hit
Who would have guessed “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) star Kristen Wiig would appear in Sia’s performance at the Grammys? Well, she did and took the audience by surprise with her creatively performed dance moves. Read on to know more about Wiig’s famous dance moves.
Singer-songwriter Sia performed her hit and Grammy-nominated single “Chandelier” together with the girl on the music video, 12-year-old Maddie Ziegler from “Dance Moms” and the one and only Kristen Wiig from “SNL.” Sia performed with her back to the audience, as she always does, while Wiig and Ziegler, in matching nude leotards and wigs, danced their heart out in an apartment background. They really stood out from their messy backdrop. Wiig and Ziegler entertained the audience with their captivating and intense dance moves. Rolling Stone described Wiig’s dance moves as a beautifully portrayed desperation of someone trying to escape her inner demons. The 41-year-old actress’ free and very emotional dance moves surprised the audience in a good way. Ziegler also took the stage with her equally impressive performance. The Washington Post even called her “the official sidekick.” Shia LaBeouf, who appeared in the music video for “Elastic Heart,” also attended the awards night, reading poetry as introduction — another surprise from Sia and the gang.
Billboard also dubbed it as one of the best performances on the night. Well, it seems that the audience was not the only one to enjoy the performance. E! News reported that the “SNL” alum brought her infamous dance moves to Madonna’s after-party at the Hyde Lounge in Hollywood.
“They brought their dancing shoes that’s for sure! They danced their butts off! Lots of hip hop!” a source told E! News.
Wiig will star on the upcoming all-female remake movie “Ghostbusters,” alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. The cast will begin filming this summer, and the movie’s initial release date was scheduled in July 2016.
