Kurt Sutter Would Not Do ‘Sons of Anarchy’ (SoA) Prequel For A ‘Couple of Years’

“Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter said that they would not yet be doing a “Sons of Anarchy” prequel during an interview last Feb. 12. When will it be then? Read on for more details.

Though the “Sons of Anarchy” may not have made it to the 2015 Emmy, it still can’t be denied that it was one of the best crime drama series.

Records showed that it had an average audience attraction of 4.9 million per week – FX’s highest ever. And these 4.9 million viewers are expecting for the “Sons of Anarchy” prequel.

“Sons of Anarchy” Prequel Plot

Kurt Sutter previously talked about the show’s prequel. He said that he would base it around “The First 9”.

According to him, “The First 9” are the original nine members who formed the group after returning from Vietnam. Fans could then expect characters that were not previously seen in the show as well as the group patriarch John Teller and his wife Gemma Teller.

He also teased a certain manuscript “The Life and Death of Sam Crow” written by John Teller. He was supposed to release it last 2013, but it did not happen for some good reason.

“Sons of Anarchy” Prequel Release Date

However, he promised to release it after he finishes the “Sons of Anarchy” prequel, which was a miniseries of around 10 episodes or two 8 episodes. He would start to work on the prequel one year or two years after the “Sons of Anarchy” finale and the start of “The Bastard Executioner”, Nerd Core Movement reported.

That was around Aug. 22, 2014. But in Kurt Sutter’s recent interview with IGN, it seems the “Sons of Anarchy” prequel would be delayed for “a couple of years.”

“There’s been serious conversations and I’ve mentioned this many times, about potentially doing the first nine prequel which would most likely be a mini series like a ten-off or something like that. So with all that stuff, it’s really important and we wouldn’t do that for a couple of years,” Stutter said.

This may leave fans hanging, but once it gets released, no doubt it would be a hit. And followers are just here patiently waiting for the “Sons of Anarchy” prequel. Hopefully, it would be sooner.
