Lady Gaga Almost Quit Being A Popstar; Why Did She Feel Like A ‘Fashionable Robot’?
Lady Gaga indeed proved that she is not in Page 3 simply for her famous (or should we say infamous?) meat dress this year.
Fans were bowled over by her performance at the Oscars this year, as she paid a heart-rending tribute to the “Sound of Music” and could not be overshadowed even by Tony Bennett, who is a Jazz icon.
The singer also bagged a leading role in “American Horror Story: Hotel” and worked for the cause of struggling youth, through her foundation called “Born This Way”.
No wonder that she was awarded Billboard’s prestigious “Woman of the Year” award.
Lady gaga told Billboard that it was a year when she did what she really wanted to do. She did not do what other people wanted her to do. The singer also said that the honor actually speaks volumes by itself.
A change in her course of career seems to have come at the right moment. She had even contemplated about quitting from being a pop star last year when she went through a tough time after facing backlashes from her detractors for her album titled “ARTPOP”. The album had been released in 2013.
The singer’s stylist had asked her towards the end of 2014 if she still wants to remain a pop star any longer or not.
It was a time when the entire music industry had turned its back against Lady Gaga. However, singers like Tony Bennett and Elton John were the people who motivated the singer to be really true to herself. Gaga said that she just did not want to remain like a “fashionable robot” anymore.
Lady Gaga’s birthday falls in the month of March and she says that right now she in the midst of going through the last moments of her 20s. However, she also said that she wants to prove that singers like her need not compete with 21-year-olds and 19-year-olds to have a big hit in music.
