Lady Gaga Becomes Billboard’s ‘Woman Of The Year’

Lady Gaga has some happy news. She is being named the “Woman of the year” by the Billboard magazine. Fellow honorees include Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Beyonce’, and Pink.

Lady Gaga who broke in to the limelight with “Pokerface,” is feeling really happy these days. The lady has been named the woman of the year by the prestigious Billboard magazine. The magazine honored her because of her unparalleled contribution to music and her six grammy awards which is a towering achievement that is hard to ignore.

Lady Gaga has recently been in the news for her philanthropic ventures and for crooning her emotionally poignant ballad, “Till it happens to you.” The song talks about pain of assault and how it is hard to communicate. The revenue generated from the song will go to survivors of sexual assault.

Needless to say, the lady deserves every kind of appreciation for her good soul and philanthropic ventures too. Her other songs have also touched on social issues and she has been very active for social issues. She has been very vocal about LGBT rights and HIV/AIDS awareness. In 2012, Lady Gaga had set up a non-profit organization called “Born this way” that works for youth empowerment. She has been listed in TIME magazine’s most influential people too.

Lady Gaga is currently busy with her fifth studio album. She is also busy with FX’s hit show, American Horror Story, and soon to join the cast as Elizabeth who is the owner of a hotel. If the preview is anything to go by, the show is going to be smashing. The season premiere airs in October this year.

Lady Gaga is one of the several performers who will be honored at the Billboard Music Awards this year. The award ceremony has been scheduled for December 18th this year.
