Lamar Odom Improves Mentally and Physically
Lamar Odom is reportedly beginning to improve both mentally and physically. Read on for more details.
According to NBC News, 35-year-old former NBA star Lamar Odom’s speech is improving. The two-time NBA champion is still undergoing therapy in Los Angeles. It will be recalled that he was found unconscious in a brothel in Nevada more than a week ago.
Alvina Alston, who works as a publicist for Odom’s aunt, JaNean Mercer, said: “He is beginning to gradually flourish both mentally and physically. His use of speech has increased and he’s more cognitively responsive.” She also said that Odom’s therapy was “aggressive,” but she did not explain why.
Few days ago, Odom and his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, filed a court petition to dismiss the divorce that they filed in December 2013. It was reported that a clerk granted their request. Kardashian has been by Odom’s bedside since he was found in critical condition at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada on October 13.
According to the brothel’s staff, the workers saw him drinking alcohol and taking supplements that are sold as “herbal Viagra.” It will be recalled that in 2013, the Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning against the brand “Reload,” which was one of the supplements that Odom took. The said brand was found to contain an active ingredient that can be found in prescription Viagra called “sildenafil.”
The brothel staff said that they did not see Odom take any drugs, but it was reported that he told at least one of the women at the brothel that he had done cocaine.
Dennis Hof, the owner of Love Ranch, said that Odom arrived at the brothel at October 10 for a four-day stay. He said that the professional basketball player spent $75,000 on two women who escorted him in a VIP suite.
Blood samples were obtained through a warrant and the test results are still pending at the moment. The authorities is yet to rule out the possibility of taking action against Odom or the Nevada brothel.
