‘Legend of Korra’ Season 5 or Spin-Off Movie Cancelled!; Konietzko and DiMartino Not Working Together Anymore!
In 2011 the famous Nickelodeon TV series, “The Legend of Korra” ended. The finale of the famous animated series gave hope to its millions of fans that there were possibility of a spin-off or if everything goes accordingly, then Netflix will turn the TV series into a feature film. But this is not what it is anymore.
According to VCPost, fans of “Legend of Korra” have been submitting petition through Change.org and are trying very hard to convince the producers to work on a possible take-off to the series through media giant, Netflix. However, in March Hypable reported that there is not going to be a possible sequel or a “Legend of Korra” movie based on the TV series.
But rumors surfaced again and it was reported by Kdramastars that there will be a possible movie spinoff to “Legend of Korra.” The finale of Nickelodeon series hinted a deep and meaningful relationship between Asami and Korra. In the past it was also reported that Paramount Pictures and Netflix have shown interest in turning the series into a film.
During the celebration of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “The Legend of Korra,” show creator Bryan Konietzko confirmed that he is not working anymore with his creative partner Mike DiMartino. In fact, both of the show creators are focusing on separate projects.
“We’re all tired and burnt out,” the co-creators admitted. “We need to move on and take that next step.”
“Avatar: The Last Airbender” was the first part from the Korra trilogy to get a silver screen adaptation. The film was written and directed by Indian American filmmaker, M. Night Shyamalm.
The film, however, was a box-office disaster and at the same time, it failed to impress the fans of the series. It is speculated that if ever Netflix and Paramount Pictures want to adapt the series in a film then Dylan O’Brien will may play the role of Bolin.
With the fall out between the two creators, the possible movie spinoff of “Legend of Korra” is unlikely. Still, fans can hope for a better day.
