Legendary Pictures Confirms Godzilla Sequel

After the success of the first “Godzilla” film, it comes without a doubt that a sequel is bound to happen. It was announced by Legendary Pictures during the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 on July 26, 2014. This time around, it is packed with more monsters. Read on to know more about the details of this scoop.

“Let them fight.” Those were the words the words that struck most fans while watching “Godzilla.” True enough, the film has proven itself worthy by giving justice to the real story of the god of all monsters. Because of that, the chief of Legendary Pictures Thomas Tull greenlights its sequel as Godzilla faces not just two but three formidable enemies who wish to wreak havoc in the face of the earth.

The three monsters who will be causing torment all over earth and battling Godzilla are Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah. According to Hollywood Life, they were all revealed by the panel through a footage entitled “Classified Monarch Footage.” The video contained the announcement of the three monsters which were shown in the form of a message. “CODENAME: RODAN,” “CODENAME MOTHRA” and “CODENAME: GHIDORAH.” The video was obviously a teaser, and it brought the roaring crowd into a state of standstill. It was then ended with a few lines: “THREAT ASSESSMENT: CONFLICT INEVITABLE. LET THEM FIGHT.”

After such revelation, the crowd erupted into a chorus of praises that emitted pure excitement. Gauging it from the clips alone, Godzilla will be experiencing a handful with these monsters running out and about, destroying the world as we know it. In the details shared by First Showing.Net, Rodan is a mutated pterosaur, designed after a type of prehistoric reptile, Mothra is basically a giant radioactive moth and Ghidorah is a three-headed dragon with large wings and two tails. As reported by The Verge, the three Kaiju were all featured in the classic monster film created by Japanese Studio Toho in 1954.

Not only will Godzilla be making the epic comeback but also its director Gareth Edwards. Unfortunately, the director was not there during the announcement as he was currently engaged in the “Star Wars” spinoff film from the collaboration of Disney and Lucas Films. Such movie is set to hit the theaters on Dec. 16, 2014.

There are still no confirmations as to when will the movie be setting its motion for production or who will be playing what, but it is clear that Legendary Films will make it all happen. That’s the latest update on the monstrous sequel of “Godzilla.” Stay tuned at Movie News Guide (MNG) for the up-to-date information in the entertainment circle.
