Michael Cera has just signed up to join the cast of “LEGO Batman” movie as the voice of Robin. The “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” actor was reportedly confirmed to be part of the highly anticipated sequel to the 2004 smash hit “The Lego Movie.”

As previously reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the sequel will focus on Batman (Will Arnett) and Robin’s (Michael Cera) adventure. The script is written by Seth Grahame-Smith while the animation supervisor on “LEGO Movie” Chris McKay will be directing.

Although Chris Pratt definitely delighted audience as Emmett, Will Arnett’s Batman definitely stole the scene. As Blastr pointed out, the LEGO batman had the best one-liners and his character left fans wanting for more. The viewers wanted to know more about his back story, and Michael Cera’s addition to the cast is definitely a good move.

“The LEGO Movie” enjoyed tremendous box-office success, grossing more than $468 million worldwide. The film also earned Grammy and Oscar nominations for the song “Everything is AWESOME!!!” Because of this, Warner Bros. decided to do more LEGO films in the next three years. According to Entertainment Weekly, the follow-up Batman sequel is expected to hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.

“These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come,” Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution Dan Fellman said.
