Lena Headey Talks About Cersei’s Walk Of Shame On ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Finale
Walk of Shame was the fate for villain Cersei Lannister on the June 14 Season 5 finale of ‘Game of Thrones.’ Read what Lena Headey, who played the role, tells about the Walk of Shame.
According to US Weekly, the brutal scene of Walk of Shame, which appeared after Cersei admitted that she slept with her cousin leaving her children to her brother, provoked some sympathy for her.
Even though a body double was used with Lena’s head, the British star still had to walk through the yelling, flash-happy crowd while things were thrown at her and insults were repeated, said the source. The source also added that the shooting for the scene was carried out for three days.
“It’s not hard when people are screaming at you and you look like s–t and you’re being f–king humiliated to figure out how that would feel,” Lena told Entertainment Weekly.
“There’s a part of you that’s f–king terrified. I can’t even imagine people wanting your blood. Cersei has done wrong, but she doesn’t really deserve this,” and “I don’t think anyone deserves that treatment,” tells Headey.
Lena also added that Cersei has been beaten, starved, and humiliated, and the character has no idea that they are going to shave her hair even if she comes out and admits her wrong deed.
The future of Cersei is not yet written. However, Lena Headey comes out with her ideas, and said, “I think she’s got some people to kill before she’s done.” The British star also added that people would not blame her this time.
Though Cersei Lannister, one of the series’ most hated characters, has committed many evils, the brutal scene of the Walk of Shame induced a feeling of sympathy for the character in the minds of the “Game of Thrones” fans.
