Leslie Bibb to Star in Amazon’s ‘Salem Rogers’

Aside from the third batch of pilots that has been recently released, Amazon has more pilot projects planned under its belt, and the development of these are moving full speed ahead. One of these projects is “Salem Rogers: Model of the Year 1998,” who has tapped Leslie Bibb to star in it. Read on to learn more about the story.

“Salem Rogers: Model of the Year 1998,” according to Deadline, follows the titular Salem Rogers, a self-centered former supermodel who is forced out of rehab after ten years. She then has to reunite with her former assistant, who is now a self-help writer, who used her experience with Salem as an inspiration. Salem then tries to get back on track as a supermodel, in a bid to relive and revive her glory days.

The titular role will be portrayed by actress Leslie Bibb. Bibb has appeared both on television and on the big screen. Her acting credits include “The Big Easy” (1997), “Popular” (1999 to 2011), “Emergency Room (ER)” (2002 to 2003), “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” (2006), “Crossing Jordan” (2005 to 2007), “Midnight Meat Train” (2008), “Iron Man” (2008), “Confessions of a Shopaholic” (2009), “Iron Man 2” (2010) and “Good Christian Belles” (2012). Bibb will also be in the pilot episode of the upcoming remake of “The Odd Couple,” which stars “Friends” actor Matthew Perry.

The project will be written by Lindsey Stoddart, who, according to Digital Spy UK, has always been interested in those people who expect to succeed in everything they do, despite insurmountable odds. This kind of  people do not know the meaning of the word “failure,” and eventually, they do succeed. Salem is just one example of a person who is like this.

Stoddart is an actress who is now taking a stab at writing for the small screen. Her acting credits include “Scrubs” (2002 to 2005) and “Bob’s Burgers” (2012 to 2014). She has also guest starred in television shows such as “Bones” (2006), “How I Met Your Mother” (2008), “Modern Family” (2009), “Desperate Housewives” (2011) and “Psych” (2012).
