Linkin Park’s DJ Hahn Is Set to Direct Mall

One of Linkin Park’s key players, Joseph Hahn, is set to direct his first film entitled “Mall.” Aside from being part of the world-renowned rock band of the century, DJ Hahn has been recording soundtracks for popular films like the “Transformers” movie franchise with (“What I’ve Done,” “New Divide,” “Iridescent”) and the supernatural rendition of the politician “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” (“Powerless”), but he has now officially moved on to change the DJ status to a movie director.

According to Blabbermouth, the CEO of Paragon Pictures Evan Crooke made the announcement when they acquired the North American rights for the suspense film “Mall.”

“We are delighted to have acquired this unique film from Joe Hahn, who we think is a visionary director,” said Crooke as published in the Blabbermouth feature.

Hahn is one of the point persons in Linkin Park and is known to be the director for majority of the band’s music videos notably “In the End,” “Papercut,” “Somewhere I Belong,” “Numb,” “Breaking the Habit,” New Divide,” “Bleed It Out” and their latest musical masterpiece, “Until It’s Gone.” He’s also experienced shooting videos for other bands like Story of the Year, the X-Ecutioners and Xzibit. With all these, it’s quite understandable that he is not new to the responsibilities of a director. However, “Mall” will serve as his debut in directing a feature film.

The story will be depicted from the protagonist’s point of view, who will be played by Cameron Monaghan. It takes place in a shopping mall where the lives of five dissatisfied suburban residents get involved in a random shooting incident which enunciated a gargantuan shift in their average lives.

The screenplay is written by Vincent D’Onofrio, who is known for his success in “Jurassic World,” and Joe Vinciguerra and Sam Bisbee. The suspense movie is adapted from the bestselling novel by Eric Bogosian.

The film will be created under negotiations among Kyle Villella,  Evan Crooke,  Danny Sherman and Josh Kesselman for Paragon Pictures and Nate Bolotin for XYZ Films.

Paragon Pictures is one of the most hailed movie productions in Hollywood that is dedicated to creating feature films. It is also known for bringing unique and marketable films in screens, whether big or small. On that note, the production is set to create a sensitive and creative film output by placing their trust on DJ Hahn’s visionary skills.
