New Release Date for ‘The Age of Adaline’ Starring Blake Lively
Lionsgate Pictures sets the date for the theatrical release of the upcoming drama movie entitled “The Age Of Adaline.” It will premiere on January 23, 2015. Read on to learn more about the scoop.
According to Variety, the studio announced its theatrical release date for its epic romantic-drama film “The Age Of Adaline.” Hollywood actress and former “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively as Adaline. She is a young woman who was born at the turn of 20th century. She was considered as ageless. An unfortunate accident that happened during one icy night changed her life forever. She keeps her condition a closely-guarded secret, but she still continue on her adventures. She will meet a man after years of solitary confinement. She will have to choose between immortality or life with her beloved.
“Age of Adaline” is an epic romantic-drama film directed by Lee Toland Krieger, best known for the films “The Vicious Kind” (2008) and “Celeste and Jesse Forever” (2012) and is written by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz with revisions by Allison Burnett.
Aside from Lively, it features an ensemble cast which includes Harrison Ford, Michiel Huisman, Ellen Burstyn, Amanda Crew, and Kathy Baker.
Earlier, Katherine Heigl was added to the cast as the title character, withdrawing due to rumors that she was fired by Lakeshore, which both Lakeshore and the actress denied. She later announced that her withdrawal was a result of her recent adoption of a daughter.
On August 15, 2011, TheWrap reported that Natalie Portman had been offered the lead role and by August 25, Portman told Entertainment Weekly that she had declined the offer. Filming began on March 10, 2014 in Vancouver, and continued through May 5.
The film is collaboration from Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Lakeshore Entertainment and produced by Sidney Kimmel, Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi. Lions Gate Entertainment has gained rights for distribution.
“Age of Adaline” will premiere for a worldwide release on January 23, 2015 facing off against Universal’s thriller “The Boy Next Door” starring Ryan Guzman, Jennifer Lopez and Kristin Chenoweth about a divorced woman’s affair with a neighbor teenager that goes very wrong.
