“Long Way Down” and “Love You Goodbye” Are One Direction Songs Inspired By Louis Tomlinson Heartbreak From Former Lover Eleanor Calder?
The talent of One Direction ranges to different fields such as in the singing, dancing, and performing. In addition, they also have members that have the bright minds of great songwriters. Louis Tomlinson is one of those who have helped in creating the hit songs of the group. Is it true that some of their singles came from his recent heartbreak?
According to Hollywood Life, the song “Long Way Down” is included in their latest album “Made In The A.M.” The meaning behind the song speaks loudly of a once good relationship that have eventually come to an end and didn’t last. Tomlinson and former girlfriend Eleanor Calder have been together for four long years before they called it quits in the early part of 2015.
As most fans generalize that it is indeed his relationship with her that made him co-write the song, another fan has a different take about it. This fan who joins 1D listening party shared on Tumblr that the song could probably be “about the band and how they are at the top and the break will be them taking it down some.”
Songs are always open for interpretation especially if they are very relatable to one’s experiences and emotions. Another 1D single, “Love You Goodbye” is an added emotional track wherein the message plus the ballad genre touch the heart of anyone. He would hear it for the first and for the nth time. Tomlinson, himself, revealed the message behind the song.
In a report from Entertainment Weekly, Tomlinson shared that “Love You Goodbye” is a song that he’s really proud of from the recent ones that the group has.
“I think it’s kind of like when … how to put this? When you come to the end of a relationship and you always find yourself seeing that person one last time. It’s that moment…If you can read between the lines.” Tomlinson said.
Truly, One Direction will continue to captivate fans’ hearts with more songs like “Long Way Down” and “Love You Goodbye.”
