Los Angeles Lakers Want DeMarcus Cousins To Replace Kobe Bryant; Sacramento Kings Deny Trade Rumors
DeMarcus Cousins has been all over NBA trade rumors and now news has emerged that Los Angeles Lakers want the star.
Although the Sacramento Kings have denied the rumors vehemently, new teams are being linked with Cousins every now and then and they are so strong that you’re bound to believe that a transfer is on the cards. After strong linking to Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as new contenders. Cousins’ trading will be huge news especially when we consider the amount of money that will be involved, therefore the chance of rumors dying down are slim.
According to Gospelherald.com, Lakers are looking to replace the soon retiring Kobe Bryant and if they make a move for Cousins it will make a lot of sense. The owner of Sacramento Kings Vivek Ranadive also revealed that Cousins wants to move to a different team next season. Reports have suggested that things are not smooth between the player and head coach Greg Karl, but Ranadive wants both of them to sort it out so that the team remains in harmony and can work together effectively.
Karl didn’t shy off of showing his desire to have Cousins traded but probably due to the team owner’s intervening, he has changed his stance.
“Summer talk and summer drama, I’ve always thought, is hype and so much of it is untrue. I’m not going to get into it but Cous and I have to work together to get back to together, and we will.” He was quoted as saying adding that Cousins is the best player in the team and the most talented kid and they will fully utilize his potential.
Sacramento Kings can be a decent team next season and try to get a spot in the playoffs if they manage to hold on DeMarcus Cousins, with Rajonn Rondo and Marco Belinelli already on the team, but it will be difficult to hold on to him if other teams offer him better opportunities.
