Louis Tomlinson Admits ‘It Was Hard’ As He Speaks About When Zayn Malik Left One Direction
Shattered and dumbfounded are an understatement to describe how One Direction fans feel when they have just woke up one day with the news that their beloved group is down to four members after Zayn Malik left. If fans reacted this way then how about the members themselves especially to the someone who is really close to him? Louis Tomlinson breaks his silence regarding the issue.
In an interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine as cited by Hollywood Life, Tomlinson answered in all honesty about Malik’s decision.
“It was hard. I think maybe for me the most, but he wanted to be happy and he wasn’t. Everything had always been good and then something bad happens and you have to make decisions. You have to work out what you want and it makes you really know what you want. We all knew we wanted this.” Tomlinson said.
Last May, Daily Mail reported Jamie Scott had an interview with Sunday Mirror, a songwriter who worked with One Direction. He dismissed the rumors of probable bad blood between the members and explained he just wanted a new pathway in his life.
“Zayn went because he’d had enough. Have you ever been on the road for four years? These guys aren’t at home. There is no way the same thing is going to run through all five guys, that they’re all going to want to be on the road so much together. Eventually, he got to a point where he’d had enough.” Scott added.
Tomlinson further explained instead of constantly getting hurt with what happened, they diverted their focus to creating the best album that their fans deserve. Even with just four members left, the British group is still a force to reckon with as evidenced by their latest Billboard record, sold-out concerts, and well-accepted MADE album.
Zayn Malik continues his career as a solo artist while One Direction is busy until their hiatus on 2016.
