Lu Han ‘Star Wars’ Ambassador To China: Big Marketing Enforcer For Hollywood
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has been beating all its trumpets as it prepares to release the movie in China on Jan. 9. All the marketing stunts include planting 500 Stormtroopers on the Great Wall and the whole franchise being created from a local digital hub.
According to Deadline, one more promotional campaign was unleashed this week as Lu Han the superstar was assigned as the official ambassador of the movie’s the Middle Kingdom. In China, a large portion of the movie-going people belong to the young generation and it is any marketers dream to sign out the young members of the boy band EXO.
The social outreach of this boy band has reached 12 million followers on Weibo which is a microblogging website. They have also set up a Guinness record for the maximum number of comments on one post and a large fan base internationally. This is not the first time that this immensely popular Chinese boy band has been involved in a Hollywood movie.
According to Cinemablend, the video has been released in a tie-up with “Monster Hunt” and it went on to become the highest-earning movie. The music created by them does not stop there. It has come to everyone’s notice that Han is going to dedicate the remix number of his album “The Inner Force” for the publicity of the “Star Wars.”
Earlier in the week, the singer mentioned that it is of incredible honour that he got the opportunity to become the ambassador for the movie Star Wars for China, and he really wished that all the luck is with them.
