M. Night Shyamalan Gears Up For Sequel Of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Amid Criticisms
After a slew of criticism faced for “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” creator M. Night Shyamalan is all set to put forth a sequel. The poor critical reception could not stop him from trying his luck yet again. Was it actually Shyamalan’s fault for the massive disaster of the movie? Read on to get the complete scoop.
The animated version of “Avatar” was an epidemic super hit. But, Shyamalan massively disappointed the fans with “The Last Airbender.” Critics completely blew it off with extremely harsh comments. Needless to say, the ratings were equally miserable. A scant 6% from Rotten Tomatoes, while a 4.3 out of 10 from IMDB.
While there has been outburst against the director, an insider from the production franchise told Movie Pilot that the director wasn’t responsible for the terrible failure of the movie, while Shyamalan in his defense said that the target audience for the movie was the youth, “for nine and ten year olds,” he said.
The insider praised the film maker and said that he is admirable in his job. There is a hidden reason for the failure, which the mass isn’t aware of. He even suggested apologizing to the director for a loathsome response. What or who is responsible for the flop?
There have been news and rumors about Shyamalan being ready with the first draft of the sequel, but no details could be dug out as of now.
There has been no news regarding the casting plans of Shyamalan for the sequel as well. It’s uncertain if he would continue with the same star cast that includes Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Dev Patel, Jackson Rathbone and Katherine Houghton.
Will the director rise from his ashes like the phoenix with the “Avatar: The Last Airbender 2?” He said that the sequel will be having richer and darker elements with a very strong and prominent antagonist.
