‘Mad Men’ Creator Matthew Weiner Directing Upcoming Season Of ‘Orange Is The New Black’
The Netflix comedy-drama series “Orange Is the New Black” is getting a new director. In a recent announcement, it was revealed that “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner will be directing the upcoming season four episode of the “Orange Is the New Black.” OITNB creator Jenji Kohan and Matthew Weiner are long-time friends and are said to be enjoying the work together. According to Hollywood Reporter, it is the first time 50-year-old Matthew Wiener has taken charge of the project that he has not written. He will be accompanied the series by directors including Nicole Holofcener and Allison Anders.
As reported by the sources the episodes have already started filming and are under development. Laura Prepon, who is starred as Alex Vause on the show, recently stated that she loved Matt and the way he works. She further mentioned that the show has a big cast and if the director clearly knows what is required then it makes everything run very smoothly.
Though 35-year-old Prepon did not reveal anything in detail, but she asserted on the fact that fans are going to love the work of the team and the new director. Prepon has received various accolades for her role in “Orange Is the New Black” and leads an important role in the Netflix series.
“Mad Men” too had a huge cast which mean Matthew Weiner would feel like home with a new cast and crew. Season 4 of “Orange Is the New Black” is expected to come out in summer next year.
