Madagascar 3 Takes Viewers to a Wacky 3D Journey
The gang of Madagascar is back for a third movie. The franchise always strives to bring the viewers to a trip full of fun and laughter. Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted is the first one in the franchise that is available in 3D. This means that the journey will be more impressive than ever before.
In 2005, Madagascar introduced to the world Alex the lion (Ben Stiller), Marty the zebra (Chris Rock), Gloria the hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith), and Melman the giraffe (David Schwimmer). They escaped out of New York’s Central Park Zoo and somehow got to Madagascar.
Then in 2008, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa showed Alex’s reunion with his family. He brought his friends along for the trip.
Now in Madagascar 3, the gang finds their way to Monte Carlo. They take a train ride through Rome, the Alps, and London after joining a circus so that they can go back to New York. They are joined by the penguins, who continue to act as if they belong to a different movie.
Jada Pinkett Smith said that the movie is a cheap vacation trip for families. They get to see the world for just the price of a movie ticket. The franchise has already earned more than $1.1 billion in combined domestic and international box office from the first two movies.
The animators of Madagascar 3 took a trip to the destinations in the film so that they can feel the local color. They went to Athens, Paris and Moscow. They said that there was not enough time in the movie to include all the must-sees of the location.
The four main voice actors have a story to tell about their characters. Stiller said that he developed an affinity for lions. Schwimmer said that Melman is now more confident, which is attributed to his mixed-species relationship with Gloria. Pinkett Smith said that Gloria is the mother of the group and she relates with the hippo. As for Rock, he said that h now notices zebras more than before.
