Magic Mike XXL: Magic Mike Sequel’s Got a New Director and a Title!

Movie sequels are not new in Hollywood but one movie that people didn’t expect to have a franchise was “Magic Mike.” Yes, Steven Soderbergh’s “Magic Mike” has a sequel and production of the movie franchise starts this Fall 2014. However, a lot of fans are asking about the title of the movie, is it Magic Mike 2 or is it something else? Here you go: It’s going to be “Magic Mike XXL.”

XL means extra large while XXL means double extra large… and that’s huge!

According to The Playlist, another scoop about this sizzling hot movie is that it’s got a new director: Greg Jacobs. Jacobs has been the “right hand” of Soderbergh, who remains to be the executive producer of the movie. He has directed a number of films such as 2000’s “Erin Brockovich” and “Traffic.”

Channing Tatum, the star of the show, was the co-writer of “Magic Mike” and it looks like he’s sticking around because MTV reported that he’s the co-writer again for the “Magic Mike XXL.”  Now, that’s definitely good news to all the lads and the ladies out there.

As for Matthew McConaughey’s role as Dallas, well, it is still not confirmed if he’s coming back. If you recall, the “Magic Mike” movie ended with Dallas and the boys heading off to Miami, leaving Mike behind.

We honestly can’t wait to see Tatum perform again as a stripper. His role as Mike was just dazzling and scorching hot! We wonder what’s the story now, is he coming back as a stripper or are we going to follow his life as he pursues his dreams? More details and updates on the show will be revealed in the coming months.

If the production of the “Magic Mike” movie franchise pushes through this Fall 2014, then we’re expecting “Magic Mike XXL” will have a release date of Summer 2015. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for this one because we can’t wait to see Tatum and possibly a new cast hitting the platform for the said movie sequel. It would also be great if McConaughey comes back as Dallas or at least, appear in a cameo.
