Jerry O’Connell will drop by Annie (Casey Wilson) and Jake’s (Ken Marino) apartment on “Marry Me” this midseason. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor is set to play the role of Daniel, one of Jake’s oldest friends who isn’t exactly charmed by Annie. The report said that the character “harbors a deep dislike” for Jake’s fiancée. Apparently, because of Annie, Daniel, Jake and their group of friends known as The Boyz, has had friction. On his visit, Daniel will attempt to mess up the couple’s engagement. But will it work?
The said episode appearance won’t be airing on NBC until after the holidays, and it will be entitled “Friend Me.”
O’Connell is no stranger to doing TV shows and comedy. The actor was, in fact, in several comedy series before; the most recent of which was on “We Are Men,” which ran on CBS last season. The comedy, however, had the misfortune of being the first show to be cancelled for that year’s run. O’Connell headlined this series along with Tony Shalhoub, Kal Penn, Christopher Nicholas Smith and Rebecca Breeds.
O’Connell, who is married to Rebecca Romjin with whom he has twin daughters, may be shifting his TV career though.
According to The Daily Mail, the actor and comedian may soon be seen hosting his very own daytime talk show, also slated on CBS. He will also have his wife as his sidekick in this gig. O’Connell has already tried his hand doing the talk show circuit, having had the chance to become a guest host on “The View” in 2013. The report said that CBS loved what they saw from the actor and that he had great chemistry with the women of the show.
And that's the update on “Marry Me” with Jerry O'Connell as an upcoming guest. The show is on hiatus, but it will be back for a new episode next week.
