Ever since Sony announced that THE franchise has been booted out of the company’s future projects and that they are working on a reinvented version together with Marvel, several actors have been named as fan favorites to play as the new Spider-Man.
Dylan O’Brien has been named as one of the fan-favorite actors to play as the new Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. It was especially after the “Teen Wolf” star’s successful performance in “The Maze Runner” franchise. O’Brien, however, is not included in Sony and Marvel’s list of actors being eyed to play the role.
The long wait of choosing the new Spider-Man to debut in “Captain America: Civil War.” It was as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has led many fans wondering what is taking Sony and Marvel so long. Cinema Blend cited that this boils down to the clashing of ideas between both camps.
“Sony is paying for his movie, not Marvel, and when it’s your money on the line, you want your say to matter,” Jeff Sneider said.
Comic Book Resources cited several reports, which claim that the list of actors being chosen to play as the new Peter Parker has been narrowed to two. Tom Holland and Charlie Rowe are reportedly the last two actors in the list. Charlie Plummer and Matthew Lintz still have their chance of being chosen as the new Spider-Man.
