Marvel congratulates ‘Jurassic World’ for surpassing ‘The Avengers’
Since “Jurassic World” broke “The Avengers” record by becoming the highest grossing movie in an opening weekend, one would imagine Marvel not being happy about the situation. But things seem to be a bit different here as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has personally congratulated director Colin Trevorrow and Mr. Spielberg along with others on Twitter.
According to Yahoo! Movies, Kevin Feige posted an exclusive piece of art showing Chris Pratt riding a T-rex who happens to be holding Thor’s hammer. If this wasn’t enough the art piece also had all the superheroes from “The Avengers” looking at him. The art piece also has a tagline in which Marvel Studios is congratulating “Jurassic World” for becoming the opening weekend king. In the tweet, Mr. Feige has also congratulated Universal, Legendary and lead of the movie Chris Pratt for his role in the movie.
It should be noted that Chris Pratt is also a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since he portrayed the role of Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy. He will also be reprising the role in the movie’s sequel expected to release in 2017. This could be an indication of Marvel’s expectations from the actor hoping that he will do the same for the studio.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the fun illustration was from Andy Park who is well known for doing concept art for Marvel Studios. Andy Park, whose concept art is quite popular, has also worked with the studio for “The Avengers,” “Thor,” “Iron Man 3,” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” amongst others.
Marvel’s upcoming big ticket release “Captain America: Civil War” is currently being shot with Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and an ensemble cast. It would be interesting to see Universal or perhaps Legendary Pictures to reciprocate the appreciation for the movie when it hits theaters and breaks some records. We do hope that Marvel’s next venture breaks establishes some new records for the producers.
