Marvel’s Two New ‘Doctor Strange’ URLs Hints on Upcoming Film

Registering URLs by Hollywood studios can give away what they have store, giving away information. Sony made the same move after registering “Skyfall” days before its official announcement of the next Bond film title and Warner has also registered 4 domain names tying up to DC franchises Justice League, Shazam, Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Meanwhile, Marvel registers two URL’s connected to a potential film franchise starring Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme, “Doctor Strange.” For more details on this story read on.

According to, Stitch Kingdom spotted two recently registered URLs made by Marvel, and posting the news on the social media site Twitter. makes a lot of sense since it is one of the aliases used by Dr. Strange, which might hint on the upcoming film.

Advertisement, on the other hand, raises a lot of question as to why this particular item is singled out particularly. Will it have a significant value in the story?

Earlier it was reported that Marvel is making “advanced negotiations” with Pinewood-Shepperton Studios for the 2015 filming of Marvel’s feature film, with preparations for filming underway with production to be moved to Shepperton Studios by late 2014 or early 2015 with filming possibly starting by the month of May in UK ahead of its undisclosed release date on July 8, 2016.

“Her” star Joaquin Phoenix is reported to be tied with the lead role. Scott Derrcikson is set to direct the feature film from a script penned by writer Jon Spaihts, with Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer who wrote the earlier drafts for the pic.

“Doctor Strange” was created by the writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko and made his first ever appearance in Strange Tales #110 in 1963. Originally a gifted surgeon, the egotistical Dr. Stephen Strange life changed when he got in a car accident that badly damaged the nerves of his hands. Seeking the help of the Ancient One to heal his hands, the surgeon turned sorcerer was then trained instead to be proficient in the verse of Mystic Arts becoming Earth’s greatest and most powerful mystic and master of the arcane arts, the “Sorcerer Supreme” tasked to defend the realm against demons and mystical forces such as Baron Mordo, Dormammu, Shuma-Gorath, the Undying Ones, and Nightmare.
