MARVEL Film and Comics Updates: ‘Ant-Man’ Sequel and Phase Four Release Dates Announced; New ‘Power Man and Iron Fist’ Book Announced for 2016
MARVEL Studios, which is now currently working on the third phase of their MARVEL Cinematic Universe, is on a roll, and isn’t stopping anytime soon, even though their biggest competitors, DC, is launching their own DC Cinematic Universe, called the DC Extended Universe, sometime next year, as they have just announced several changes in the line-up for the third phase of the MARVEL Cinematic Universe, and has dropped an interesting announcement regarding what might happen after the third phase. Aside from this, MARVEL has also just announced that two of their street level superheroes will once again be seen on the page in a brand new comic book. Read on to learn more about these stories.
According to the official website of MARVEL, it has just been announced that Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) will not just be seen in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War,” but will be seen in another “Ant-Man” movie, alongside Hope van Dyne’s (Evangeline Lilly) Wasp on July 6, 2018, in a sequel entitled “Ant-Man and the Wasp.”
This, of course, means that Hope will finally get her wish, and is a direct follow-up from one of the post-credits scenes during “Ant-Man”, where Hope’s father, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) finally showed Hope the Wasp suit that Janet van Dyne, Hank’s wife, had worn when she was the Wasp.
However, MARVEL still handed out a few more surprises up their sleeve. Yhey also announced several changes when it comes to the line-up that had previously been announced regarding Phase Three, and announced that there will be three more movies coming in 2020, which might just be the start of a Fourth Phase.
According to E Online, “Black Panther’s” premiere date has been moved to Feb. 16, 2018; while “Captain Marvel” will premiere on Mar. 8, 2019, and “Inhumans” will premiere on July 12, 2019.
T three new movies, according to the reports, which will probably launch the fourth phase of the Cinematic Universe, will premiere on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and Nov. 6, 2020, leaving fans enough time and room to speculate what MARVEL will do next for its fourth phase.
In other MARVEL news, it has just been announced by MARVEL that two of the Defenders who will also be seen on the small screen in their own individual series, and in a Defenders series, Luke Cage or Power Man and Danny Rand, who is also known as the Iron Fist, will be getting their own new comic book series together, entitled “Power Man and Iron Fist.”
It will be written by David Walker and the art will be done by Sanford Greene.
“Power Man and Iron Fist” will be a monthly series and will begin hitting the shelves in 2016.
