Marvel Superhero Actors Chris Evans and Chris Pratt Raise $27K for Charities
Superhero on screen, philanthropists off screen — Marvel superhero actors Chris Evans and Chris Pratt made their bets as they rooted for different teams during Superbowl. The result turned out to be heartwarming as they managed to raise funds for their charities. Read on to know more about this scoop.
When Super Bowl transpired earlier this week, fans went ahead and showed supported to their respective football teams. Fans of the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks cheered their hearts out and some made their bets just like Pratt and Evans. Pratt was supporting the Seattle Seahawks and Evans was cheering for the New England Patriots, it was there, in the games that the two met and made a bet. If the team they were rooting for lost in the Super Bowl, he would go in the other’s chosen charity dressed in their superhero costume, being that Chris Evans plays Captain America of “The Avengers” and Chris Pratt is Starlord in the “Guardians of the Galaxy.” With New England Patriots taking the game, Pratt put on his costume and visited Christopher’s Haven. Evans being the kindhearted person that he is, he went to Seattle Children’s Hospital as Captain America to equate his co-actor’s deed.
Based on the feature of Hollywood Reporter (THR), the friendly bet of the Marvel actors resulted in an accumulation of about $27,000 donation in their respective charities after they Tweeted their visits. Seattle Children’s Hospital was able to receive nearly $15,000 while Christopher’s Haven got close to a $12,000.
The president of Seattle Children’s Hospital Lisa Brandenburg, then made a statement about their great deeds.
The Hollywood Reporter stating, “We are grateful that real-life superheroes Chris Pratt and Chris Evans are turning their sports rivalry into an opportunity to support kids in their communities.We are delighted that patients and families at both Seattle Children’s and Christopher’s Haven will benefit from these generous donations.” Brandenburg said in the THR article.
Executive director of Christopher’s Haven Joyce Duvall also expressed their gratitude.
“The generosity of Chris Evans and Chris Pratt is overwhelming. They turned a simple, friendly wager into something very significant for both Christopher’s Haven and Seattle Children’s Hospital. The fun and goodwill that they have generated will stay with the children a long time.” Duvall said in her own statement
