MARVEL’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” Casting Update: Luke Mitchell To Return as a Series Regular
Fans of MARVEL’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will be relieved to know that aside from the main cast, a relatively new face in the second season, who became a vital character in the last half of the second season, will be returning for the third season. According to the official website of MARVEL, Luke Mitchell, who portrays the Inhuman Lincoln Campbell, will be back, powers and all for the third season. According to the official website of MARVEL, Luke Mitchell, who debuted the character of Lincoln Campbell, an Inhuman that Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet), who is also known as Agent Skye and “Quake”, in “Afterlife”, where all the Inhumans, led by her mother, Jiaying (Dichen Lachman) were, has just been promoted to a series regular. This means that the Inhuman will be returning in the third season, giving Skye one more Inhuman kinsman that she can count on.
Lincoln, who is able to yield and generate electricity, became vital in the last half of the second season as he also helped Skye understand more about herself and her heritage. Later on, he was swayed and manipulated by Jiaying, whose motives and intentions made it clear that she wanted to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D.
However, at the last minute, thanks to Skye, he was able to see past the veil of deceit, and switched sides, which was demonstrated when he helped Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) fight off the Inhuman how could multiply.
At the conclusion of the second season, it was seen that Skye, or Daisy, will be heading a secret team of powered people working secretly behind the scenes.
It is unclear still as to what kind of role Lincoln will be playing in the upcoming season, but according to the report on the official MARVEL website, Executive Producer Jeph Loeb has said that they have “big plans” for his character.
Before “S.H.I.E.L.D.”, Luke Mitchell was most popularly known for portraying the role of a powered person named John Young in the CW show “The Tomorrow People”, which had been cancelled after its first season.
