WARNING: This article will contain spoilers on the upcoming third season mid-season finale, “Maveth.”
The last couple of weeks on MARVEL’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” have definitely been a bumpy ride as it delivered revelation after revelation and twist after twist, up to the point that fans and viewers are bracing themselves to be faced with even more of the kind when the mid-season finale is finally released.
Now, in order to prepare oneself for the onslaught of revelations, shocks, and twists that “Maveth” will have to offer, several teases and clips have recently been released on Hypable and on the official website of MARVEL .
The first clip shared on the official MARVEL website previewed how things are going at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.
First, the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Alphonse “Mack” Mackenzie (Henry Simmons), questioned Agent Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse (Adrienne Palicki) and Agent Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) regarding how they had managed to allow Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) to jump off the quinjet. Hunter then told Mack that Coulson hadn’t been thinking straight and that he had tried to jump off the jet as well. Bobbi then stopped him at that moment, and told Mack what she had seen, and proposed that they take the castle from HYDRA in order to ensure that Agent Leo Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) and Coulson would have a safe return.
They were then called up by Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) who called Director Mack upstairs, as their surveillance of the castle showed them that several Inhumans in stasis chambers had just arrived.
Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) then became concerned that Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood) might be among those Inhumans who had just arrived, while Hunter told newly minted S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Joey Gutierrez (Juan Pablo Raba), that what usually happens is that they make up a plan, which goes horribly wrong, which then forces them to come up with a new plan that saves the day, and that they were at the part where things are going horribly wrong.
However, according to Hypable, viewers and fans shouldn’t be worried about the new director’s ability to lead in Coulson’s absence, as they stated that Mack, during the episode, will be able to lead the team just as efficiently as Coulson did, and would achieve more in terms of leadership in just one episode.
The next clip on the official MARVEL website explained what the sleeping Inhumans, who had just arrived the castle, were there for, thanks to Gideon Malick (Powers Booth), laying out his nefarious plans in front of Simmons, who informed them that their calculations when the next portal would open were wrong.
He told her that the Inhumans were there to serve as “generals” for the Inhuman who will be coming back through the portal, and Malick informed her that the creature, whose name means “death”, will be the only thing coming back.
Hypable continuesd to add that the nature of Maveth will be touched upon more during the course of the episode.
The article also teased that Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) will have a drastic change, which of course will impact the entire season, and that there will be deaths and “shifting allegiances” that will leave viewers begging for March 2016 to come faster.
Also, a recent interview that TV After Dark had with actor Dillon Casey, who portrayed Will Daniels, Simmons’ companion on the planet for six whole months, revealed that Simmons wasn’t the only visitor to pass by the planet in Will’s fourteen year stay, but didn’t elaborate on whether or not Will will be able to finally return home.
