Just recently, in line with the fact that MARVEL’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will make its return to the small screen in just a couple of hours, MARVEL released several sneak peek clips for its premiere episode, entitled “Laws of Nature”, which give fans and viewers an idea as to what to expect for this coming season. Aside from this, it also gave a sneak peek into Constance Zimmer’s role in the third season as the leader of the Advanced Containment Threat Unit (ACTU), and her partner, Agent Banks (Andrew Howard).
The first clip showed a frightened Joey (Juan Pablo Raba), who, thanks to the fish oil laced with terrigen crystals, discovered that he has the ability to melt things. He then tries to head towards the hospital, but discovers that that is an even more impossible task than he thought it would be, as he ends up causing explosions and ends up causing destruction on the streets.
He is then confronted by Agent Banks and his team, forcing Joey to run and hide behind a pile of concrete blocks.
Banks and his team are then blown away by Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet), who reassured Joey that they are there to help, and together with Agent Alphonse “Mack” Mackenzie (Henry Simmons) and Agent Lance Hunter (Nick Blood), usher him into a containment unit which then flew towards S.H.I.E.L.D.’s quinjet.
Meanwhile, on the ground, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Phil Coulson (Gregg Clark) took a picture of Constance Zimmer, who came to express her disappointment at Banks’ failure.
The second clip released was a follow up to the first clip, where Daisy and Mack explain to Joey what exactly had just happened to him.
The third clip showed Daisy and Mack trying to recruit Lincoln Campbell (Luke Mitchell)back into S.H.I.E.L.D., as he is better at helping new Inhumans adjust to their new life. However, Lincoln, now a doctor, refused to help them.
Recently, Comic Book Resources caught up with Chloe Bennet at the premiere of the third season in order to talk about her transitioning and becoming the iconic Daisy Johnson, who is also known as Quake, and being an Asian-American actress in a superhero show.
She told them that due to the events that happened after finally meeting her parents, Daisy has become a little bit tougher and “edgier”. For her, Skye is still very much there, but it has been taken up a notch, as she has now transformed into a tougher woman.
Bennet also mentioned that she feels that television and film has really progressed, as audiences are now very much more welcoming of her, a woman and an Asian-American, playing an iconic MARVEL superhero.
