MARVEL’S LATEST TRAILER FOR JESSICA JONES WAS MADE FOR “HARD PEOPLE”
The characters of Marvel’s Jessica Jones are hard people.
Nothing can further back-up this claim than the latest video of the upcoming web series as seen in Youtube.
Again the new scenes are not trimming down on hints of hard-drinking, sweaty sex and drug use. Three criterias which have always been a taboo in the Marvel Universe save for another Netflix series, Daredevil. Jones and the muscled bartender are physically attracted to each other which come into full swing after he serves her a much-needed drink after a bar room rumble.
“You tossed a man twice your size across the bar with one hand,” inquires the future Luke Cage portrayed by Mike Colter.
Jones is played by Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) which has previously been depicted in the first trailer as being constantly haunted by an ominous figure. This supposed shadow is Jones’ alarming bygone days which she can’t seem to escape, thanks to an old nemesis named Zebediah Kilgrave AKA The Purple Man. Apparently; the mind-controlling villain has now resurfaced and will threaten the picture-book grittiness of Hell’s Kitchen that Jones has buried herself into.
Kilgrave is played like a dream, albeit a horrible one by Doctor Who alum David Tennant. Expect the fight scenes between the two to not just dwell on the physical aspect but on the psychological realm as well.
Last October, the non-member of Marvel’s A-list of superheroes had its pilot episode screened at the New York Comic-Con. The Melissa Rosenberg penned-adaptation was well received by critics as reported by Comic Book Movie. Rosenberg was the head writer for television’s Dexter. Her other writing credits includes “The Twilight Saga Series”.
All 13 episodes will be available via Netflix on November 20. Other main casts for the series are Rachael Taylor as Trish “Patsy” Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth and Eka Darville as Malcolm. Rosario Dawson will make a guest appearance as she will reprise her “Daredevil” Claire Temple.
