Damon, during a chat with The Guardian on the issue of his name connected to his 1997 released movie “Good Will Hunting’s” co-actor Ben Affleck, said that such things will affect the careers of actors very deeply and if it happens in the beginning of an actor’s career then you will find yourself in a very awkward situation and same thing happened to him when people started calling him a gay and he has to come in front to deny that fake rumor.

In the same discussion, Damon said that good actors will never let people know about their lives, including sexuality meaning whether you are gay or straight. But his statements on the gay issue taken differently and it was said that the actor was talking about gay actors to not to disclose their identity to anyone. The actor clarifies that he did not mean this.

He said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, “I was talking about [that] actors are more effective when you know less about their personal lives, and was talking about it in the context of when Ben and I first started and people wrote all these articles, when Good Will Hunting came out, that we were gay, because it was two guys that wrote the script.”

The ‘Bourne 5’ actor Damon further added that he was concerned about the careers of his fellow actors and don’t want them to follow the same fate like Rupert Everett who accepted his sexuality as gay in public due to which he failed to get good roles in the industry.

Well, poor Damon, whenever he tries to say something good, some or the other things show him in a bad light. He was just trying to say his fellow actors to concentrate on their performance rather than answering or justifying to rumors, and for this he was in favor of speaking less in public. But, see what happened! Anyways, Damon, you keep on suggesting good things to all and we hope one day all these misunderstanding will diminish.
