Matthew David McConaughey is born in November 4, 1969 in Uvalde, Texas. He studied at the University of Texas in Austin before he started in Hollywood. McConaughey got married to Camila Alves in 2012, and they have three children to date: Levi (6), Vida (4) and Livingston (2).
McConaughey attended Long View High School, where he played tennis and golf. According to biography.com, his classmates, named McConaughey as the “Most Handsome Student.”
His first big break was in the 1993 film “Dazed and Confused.” Soon after, he starred in “A Time to Kill” in 1996, along with Sandra Bullock, Kevin Spacey, and Samuel L. Jackson. He also graced the cover of Vanity Magazine in 1996. McConaughey’s recent films include “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” in 2003 with Kate Hudson, “Two for the Money” in 2005 with Al Pacino, “The Ghosts of Girlfriend’s Past” in 2009 with Jennifer Garner, and “Mud” in 2012 with Reese Witherspoon.
His hunk status has been elevated since People’s magazine named him as “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2005.
Since McConaughey’s acting career began, he has won 28 awards and earned 26 nominations. His film “Dallas Buyers Club” in 2013 has brought him the Best Actor award in the recently held 86th Academy Awards or the Oscars 2014. He played the role of Ron Woodroof, an electrician who was diagnosed with HIV. In turn, Woodroof tried to help others who were infected with the disease.
According to CBS News, in his acceptance speech, McConaughey said that he only needs three things to survive: God, family, and someone to look up to as a hero. Meanwhile, the crowd burst into laughter when he mentioned his line from the movie “Dazed and Confused,” “All right, all right, all right.”
Moreover, McConaughey also won as Best Actor in the Golden Globes 2014 for his critically acclaimed performance in “Dallas Buyers Club.”
“I don’t want to just revolve. I want to evolve—as a man, as a human, as a father, as a lover,” said McConaughey in biography.com.
